On Oct. 30, 2011, the day after "Snowtober," six LHS students traveled to WGBH in Boston to compete in the initial round of High School Quiz Show. Participants included Vickey Ngo, Bao Truong (alternate), Michael Lombard, Jarrod Ford, Urann Chan, and Jennifer Nguyen (alternate).
Competition consisted of 100 Jeopardy-style questions on general knowledge, administered by a tester and a score-keeper.
Seventy-eight teams competed; only 16 could advance. Lowell scored 640, but that was not high enough to advance. Scores for the competition ranged from 235 to 930. Ngo and Nguyen are juniors hungry for next year's competition. Lowell will be ready for HSQS#4.
